The traveling exhibition of the world’s best press photographs of the year, selected at the 2011 World Press Photo’s contest for professional photographers, will be on display in the Main Gallery of the Visitors Lobby at United Nations Headquarters in New York, N.Y. from Aug. 5 – 28. Journeys Within Tour Co. and Strabo Photo Tour Collection, with travel photographer Joel Collins, are partnering to offer an opportunity to travel to Southeast Asia and photograph the region's highlights. From Jan. 7-21, 2012, Collins will lead a Strabo Photo Tour through Thailand and Cambodia, assisted by guides and local expertise of Journeys Within. Did your husband spill his nice, cool glass of lemonade on your laptop? Oh, wait -- that was my husband and my laptop. Well anyway, if your hard drive suffered a sad fate due to the elements of summer, snap a picture of the damage and you might just get a new Canon digital camera out of it. Cloud storage company MiMedia launched a photo contest to find images of digital memories destroyed by the elements of Summer – like a laptop buried in the sand on the beach or a camera at the bottom of a pool. The Great Picture, a gelatin silver photograph three stories high by eleven stories wide and created in and airplane hangar that had been transformed into an enormous camera obscura -- the largest camera ever made -- is now on display. MSNBC reports on Dear Photograph, a new site that asks people to take a picture from the past in the present. In late May, Dear Photograph founder Taylor Jones, a 21-year-old Canadian who lives at home with his parents, was sitting with his family at the kitchen table, looking through photo albums.
